The Amazing Spider-Man

Well what I have to say is the actors were great. No question the emotion was there and kept off the screen. I have a few qualms I thought I was in for a totally different experience with this reboot but got the same basic elements of the other disappointing Spider-Man movies. However better than all the others due to Andrew Garfield. It was excellent just not what I expected. What I say is a 7 out of 10. Definitely rent I don't know about Matinee.

This Means War

This romantic/comedy/action movie is an excellent choice for a romantic evening or just a laugh. The premise is that two secret agents are dating the same woman. She has to choose between the two and along the way there are some action seems. This is a fun movie that is all and I suggest at least renting the movie just to see if you like it. I would give this movie a 6 out of 10 because of the lack of originality.

Chronicle

What is most interesting is the use of the found footage which is a filming technique I rather don't know what to do with. The reason being that it just feels bad I don't know just my opinion. But now to the movie I rather like it because of the scifi aspects and great characters. The great realism of the development of the characters is great you would expect someone to feel superior and capable of controlling the world. The effects were great and the actors sincere. I give it an 8 out of 10 mostly just due to the found footage aspect, it just annoys me.

Jeff Who Lives At Home

This movie was very cool and fun. It stars Jason Segal (Jeff) and Ed Helms (Pat) who play brothers separated by their differences who grow during the course of this movie. The premise is very fun because it deals in that comedy and real emotional movie area. Which I love because both of these actor are hilarious but show how serious they can really be and I love it. The series of events that occur are awesome and funny and just heartfelt. I give this movie a 8 out of 10.

Sherlock Holmes: Game Of Shadows

Now for one I was a huge fan of the first one and the style that it was shot in and was a bit overwhelmed by this particular sequel. The reason being that although visually the color scheme and clothing are much the same the feeling is much more rushed. Also the "Holmes a vision" was just to sporadic they should have kept it within reason like the first film. However it was still awesome. The conclusion of the film really does make up for the faults of the rest of the film. U would like to give this film a solid 7 out of ten. It just didn't live up to my expectations and it was a bit to over the top in some parts.

21 Jump Street, Hilarity!!!

21 Jump street is a hilarious film that is excellent. It is hilariou all of my friends agreed also, however from my parents they said it sucked. The reason being is that the original show is not a comedy. This is something I understand a show you hold dear manipulated into a spoof adaptaion is ridiculous. However for the new generation with no connection to the show it is a hilarious film. Channing Tatum is just unbelievably funny which is a depart from his Dear John and GI Joe image. Also paired with Jonah Hill is ridiculously compatiable with eachother and have awesome on camera chemistry you may not see to often.

One Day

One Day is a romantic Movie about two friends that fall in love. The basic plot line is that we as the audience visit these two people on a specific day out of the year over 13 years. This makes for an interesting movie that really does feel real in a sense. The reason being is they are not necessarily together on that specific day. The actress Anne Hathaway is particularly excellent I can't believe it's the same woman who did the Princess Diaries. And the actor mainly I know from 21 was excellent as well in this male lead. The onscreen chemistry was felt throughout the film which made it even better. The color tones of the film were cool and not outrageous although this is expected from a romantic movie such as this one. I find it calming and quite romantic. There wa an excellent art director on this movie in my opinion.

The Debt

The Debt is an action thriller that is filled with excellent story and intrigue. The storyline follows three Mussed  agents that have kept a secret for many years. Finally though their secret is going to be exposed. This storyline is very exciting because of the amount of surprises the audience has particularly about a specific point in the film you expect one thing to happen but that doesn't happen it is  really suspense I was almost yelling at the screen. But that is what this movie really brings you to do is practically getting out of seat. The camera in this movie is very third person but also from afar because this is a spy movie. The camera seems hidden at times this is when they are in public on the mission which gives that secret agent man feel. But when in private the camera is very intimate which gives it a stir crazy cabin fever type feeling and also I find enhances the romance of the movie. Bottom line of the overall review is a definite rent with a timid buy because of the the rewatchability which I find with spy movies very lackluster.

J. Edgar Hoover was incredibly terrible?!?

   J. Edgar is the story of the former director o the FBI J. Edgar Hoover, this movie is a dram an excellent one at that, I found it very interesting. I know I say interesting a lot when judging movies but it is mostly because I legitimately do find these films interesting. Anyhoo, Leonardo De Caprio stars as the former director of the FBI and his performance as usual is awesome. What I found cool is the storyline which of course follows J. Edgar Hoover but it follows him through the underground tunnels of the actual man. Or at least the speculation that people have had about Mr. Hoover.
The general feel of the movie is dark and you find yourself enthralled in the story. The camera is an objective viewpoint but has a feel of a wiretap sorta angle. That is to say you are spying on J. Edgar rather than experiencing these things with him. That couple with interesting darkness which gives the film a tone of despair and slyness. Which actually helps the movies plot move forward and such.
Somethings I didn't like about this movie were the cut scenes it seemed choppy and a bit rushed. The story is constant flashback and so that is something I have found annoying but in this movie since it is required I found it actually not as annoying.
Finally I highly suggest this film I would say a timid buy because rewatchability is not as there as you would want but I would say definite rent.

In Time to watch another movie!

In Time is a movie about a dystopian society where the people are genetically engineered in order to not age past 25 years. While on the surface this may seem great the fact is that " many must must die in order for a select few to be immortal". This is the prevailing idea of the film that in my mind is a commentary of the current economic state of the country. This movie is a commentary on the discretion of economic classes even more so because of the "time districts" which are basically the ghetto and richville. Whatever the meaning behind this movie I found it was lOst on through the bad script and unfortunate lackluster suspense. Justin Timberlake is at least in my mind an actor who has earned my respect however I think the cheesy tone of the protagonist was just to much for me. I would say watch it but rent because the problem is this is no way the worst movie but it isn't worth buying in my opinion.

Anonymous? Shakespeare didn't write this!

Anonymous is an interesting drama on the controversial subject of Shakespeare not writing a single word of the work he lays claim to. This is an excellent drama with more twists and turns than you can anticipate. The actors in this movie are excellent and what is interesting is the lack of focus on Shakespeare's character. They rather made it about the man the film claims wrote all of the works. I really don't want to ruin anything so I will merely say that this a definite movie worth seeing although there some scenes that scene unusual and unnecessary the excellent story however far outweighs these flaws.

Tekken BOOM!

Tekken is a movie that takes place in the video game world of the classic arcade game Tekken. I personally like Tekken the video game due to the Interesting characters and the 2D in 3D if that makes any sense. The movie though was ok overall. I really like the rundown look and feel of the movie as a whole. The story however is lackluster due to its overuse. The son/daughter is not allowed to fight by the parent however the parent dies due to some foul play and the son/daughter avenge them in some way. This has been done before and just seems wornout. The real kind of star in this movie is the fighting which I personally appreciate for the ring and kind of Mortal Kombat feel. Also Mortal Kombat is a great parallel due to the similar story and video game origins. Tekken could have been an awesome movie however the story is just not there. What I would suggest is if you like fighting movies just for the fighting and don't really care about story I say watch but rent.

Win Win Win!!!

Win Win is an excellent drama and comedy package that touches your heart and also your sense of humor. The story begins with a down and out lawyer and wrestling coach, Paul Giamatti, who takes in an elderly client, Burt Young, in order to recieve payment for his family to live. The client gets a visit from his grandson, Alex Schaffer, a young man trying to get away from his mother and who also happens to be a champion wrestler. This movie to me was really well done because it found the perfect balance of humor and heartfelt scenes.Win Win is a great flick with a great story and cast I highly recommend watching this movie.

Haywire- Gina Carano and Antonio Banderas's beard

This was a movie that is hard to pinpoint this movie due to its interesting visual and action sequences. Gina Carano plays a spy who gets burned by her private company. Miss Carano is a champion MMA fighter who's action sequences are killer and just plain awesome. The overall plot is solid and isn't really subject to the confusion that some spy movies seem to sometimes get wrong. The talent in this movie is incredible, Channing Tatum, Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Ewan McGragor they were all excellent in this movie. The style of the movie to me was very close at least musically to Oceans Eleven and the plot seems to follow that "you dont always know whats what". I really liked this type of movie because it always seems like each scene is important. There were really interesting fight scenes because there was no music which seemed interesting and that was soimething I liked about the movie. All in all this is a movie I highly suggest that anyone sees mostly due to the interesting fight scenes and overall storyline of the film.

Real Steel = Rocky with Robots?

This movie was very interesting because of the great story that just comes along with it. The Rocky movies were great examples of the comeback kid and underdog storyline. The fighting scenes in the Rocky were great examples of cinematography of fight scenes, the first steady-cam was invented on the set. This is important to note due to the parallels of the boxing and ring scenes. Real Steel, is the story of a man down on his luck in the robot fighting game who has to take responsibility of the son he abandoned. They are able to dig up a bot, Atom, they are able to win fights until they get the championship fight. In the championship fight they fight the champion, Zeus, to the limit and come out on the bottom. This movie was surprisingly good for the whole Rock'em Sock'em Robots idea. The actors Hugh Jackman, Charlie Kenton, and Dakota Goyo, Max Kenton, were very believable as son and father because of their performances. The effects were spot on in terms of realism and no excess CGI. The overall review is great story however just to kiddish for it to be a serious action/drama. I would suggest renting this movie for families because the rewatchability is just not there.

Red FAIL!!

Look before I say anything about this movie I am merely giving my opinion of this movie and the portrayal of the characters. Okay first of all Red Tails is about the Tuskegee Airman who fought in World War II. George Lucas has been wanting to do this movie for a while. All of the characters are based on actual veterans. The story is excellent without a doubt. However the telling of the story was just lacking in the characters. In the movie I simply did not feel enough for the characters to actually care about the lives of these soldiers. The soldiers that actually do die in this movie the deaths are just not dramatic or heart wrenching due to the lack of the emotion felt for the characters. The real problem is just the cinematography  the lack of practical effects and excess use of CGI. The dog fights were just unexciting and all around not suspenseful. In conclusion the movie was lack luster, I was expecting this movie to be action packed drama, however what I got was less than special effects and incomplete story.
